The blast furnace is the hottest smelting station and the only one that smelts iron, gold, silver and diamonds.

The vanilla recipe is replaced: 4 polished deepslate, 2 smooth stone and a kindling (campfire), with no iron or furnace.[1]

Usage

It smelts raw iron, raw gold, raw silver, raw diamonds, carbon-rich iron, ancient debris and several stone blocks, and melts metal equipment back into ingots, diamonds or adamant alloy. Obtaining one grants Burgeoning Metallurge.

Most recipes are set to 200 ticks. In Minecraft 26.3 a blast furnace cooks twice as fast as a furnace, so they take 5 seconds; raw iron, gold and copper blocks take 10 seconds and green dye 2.5 seconds.[2]

1.12.2 The recipe takes polished deepslate instead of stone bricks; raw diamonds require it.
1.12.6-alpha For Minecraft 26.3, where a blast furnace cooks at double speed, every recipe has twice as many ticks (most 200 instead of 100), so smelting takes as long as before.[3]
