Usage
Armor
The copper chestplate gives 4 armor and has 200 durability (vanilla: 176). The iron chestplate gives 6, and the golden one 5.
Warding
Copper armor protects undead from Warding. While any non-player entity wearing at least one piece of plain copper armor (not shakudo or hepatizon) is within warding range, warding at levels 1 to 3 targets that entity instead, deals no damage and does not slow it. Only level 4 warding, from the full electrum set bonus, pierces this and damages the wearer. Warding stones ignore copper armor entirely.[1][2]
Repairing
It can be repaired in an anvil with copper ingots. As with all equipment in the pack, the repair cost never grows, so it can be repaired indefinitely; see Repairing.
Smelting and smithing
In a blast furnace, it melts down into one copper ingot.
History
| 1.10 | Undead wearing copper armor became immune to Warding. |
|---|---|
| 1.12.2 | Warding now targets copper-wearing mobs (and armor stands) before other undead, so copper armor draws warding away from nearby undead. |
