Adamant equipment
Adamant equipment replaces netherite. It is diamond equipment upgraded with adamant alloy; its armor carries Doom, its weapons inflict Weakness, and its tools smelt what they mine.
Obtaining
Adamant alloy is crafted from four adamant scrap, four gold ingots and pith. Diamond equipment is upgraded at a smithing table (template for the dolabra, mattock and claymore). It is repaired with blocks of diamond or adamant scrap.
In the video the developer says adamant "requires diamond blocks, gold blocks, or adamant scrap to repair. That means even in late game, you'll need to go mining for materials."[1] In 1.12.2 only the adamant leggings accepted gold blocks instead of adamant scrap, although their tooltip listed scrap; 1.12.3 corrected the smithed leggings.[2]
Characteristics
- Tools, including the axe, have the smelting intrinsic, Efficiency and Unbreaking II.
- Sword, axe, spear and claymore inflict Weakness II for 8–12 seconds, which feeds Doom.
- Armor has Doom 3, Protection I and Unbreaking II; the full set adds the Doom and health set bonus.
The 1.12.2 notes say the Doom rework "fits Adamant's apocryphal title much more, and ties in with its hell-based theming".[3]

History
| 0.4-alpha | Added item textures for adamant armor. Added the adamant spear texture. |
|---|---|
| 1.03 | The vanilla netherite recipes were blocked. |
| 1.10 | The set bonus was nerfed slightly. |
| 1.12 | Fixed severe multiplayer lag caused by adamant armor. |
| 1.12.1-alpha | Reworked: each piece gives Health Boost hearts instead of soul hearts, and the set bonus gives 2 soul hearts. Armor durability lowered from 1500 to 1000. Divinity was removed from adamant tools and replaced with Efficiency. Divinity was removed from adamant weapons and replaced with Sharpness. The claymore's attack speed was raised from 0.5 to 1.0. The sword's and dolabra's real attack speed and damage now match the tooltip. |
| 1.12.2 | The armor intrinsic was reworked into Doom. Adamant tools now smelt the blocks they mine. Adamant weapons now inflict Weakness. Dolabras were redefined as axe (tool) and pickaxe hybrids rather than weapons: damage goes down and weapon intrinsics are removed over time. |
| 1.12.3 | Smithed leggings are repaired with blocks of diamond or adamant scrap, like the rest of the set, instead of blocks of diamond or gold. |
| 1.12.8-beta October 23, 2026 |
Adamant tools smelt diamond ore into diamonds.[4] |
