An adamant mattock is the adamant mattock, made by smithing a diamond hoe with adamant alloy and a smithing upgrade template.

This upgrade needs a smithing upgrade template; without one, the same diamond hoe and alloy make an adamant hoe. Because recipes match by item ID, a diamond mattock works as the base as well.
Usage
Mining
It breaks shovel and hoe blocks at speed 13 and has 5000 durability. Hoes in Matcha Flavoured also break wool, carpets, glow lichen and phosphor lamps quickly.[1]
Intrinsics
Efficiency I, Unbreaking II and smelting. The smelting intrinsic makes mined blocks drop their smelted form where the block's loot table supports it: ores drop ingots or silver bullion, logs drop charcoal, sand drops glass and cobblestone drops stone.[2] Intrinsics are stored on the item and applied as enchantments when it enters a player's inventory.[3]
Combat
It deals 1 ( × 0.5) damage at an attack speed of 4.
Repairing
It can be repaired in an anvil with blocks of diamond or adamant scrap. The pack resets repair costs to zero, so it can be repaired indefinitely; see Repairing.
