An iron axe is the iron axe, crafted from three iron ingots and two sticks. It hits as hard as the copper axe (9 ( × 4.5)) but swings slightly faster and lasts longer.

Usage
Woodcutting
It breaks axe blocks at speed 7 and has 500 durability. Matcha Flavoured adds beds, candles, cacti and honeycomb blocks to the blocks that axes break quickly.[1]
Combat
It deals 9 ( × 4.5) damage at an attack speed of 0.9, against 0.8 for the copper axe.
Repairing
It can be repaired in an anvil with iron ingots. The pack resets repair costs to zero, so it can be repaired indefinitely; see Repairing.

In a blast furnace it melts down into a single iron ingot, and at a smithing table it takes steel alloy to become its steel counterpart. With a smithing upgrade template it becomes a steel dolabra instead.
