Mattock

A mattock is a hybrid tool that works as both a shovel and a hoe. It mines both kinds of blocks, but more slowly than a shovel or hoe of the same tier.

Obtaining

Copper, iron and diamond mattocks are crafted (two ingots on top, one on the right, and two sticks). Steel, shakudo, hepatizon, electrum and adamant mattocks are smithed from a copper, iron or diamond hoe or mattock with the alloy and a smithing upgrade template; without the template the same recipe makes a plain hoe. Mattocks use hoe item IDs.

Usage

A mattock tills and mines everything in #minecraft:mineable/shovel and #minecraft:mineable/hoe. Since 1.10 newly made mattocks drop snowballs from snow.
