Hepatizon equipment

Hepatizon equipment is copper equipment upgraded with hepatizon alloy, a copper, silver and gold alloy. It has the fastest mining speeds in the pack, and every piece adds movement speed.

Obtaining

Hepatizon alloy is crafted from seven copper ingots, a silver bullion and a gold ingot. Copper equipment is upgraded at a smithing table with no template (a template for the dolabra and mattock). It is repaired with blocks of copper. See also the Hepatizon Laurel and hepatizon elytra.

Characteristics

Pickaxe, axe, shovel and hoe mine at speed 20, faster than adamant (15); the 1.12.1-alpha notes say the buff was "to make it worth using after obtaining Adamant". Each armor piece adds 0.01 movement speed (10% of the base 0.1), so the full set adds 40%. The sword has Riposte II and the spear Lunge III.

Trivia

• Hepatizon was called "Bronze" until 1.10; internal IDs such as the alloy recipe bronze_alloy keep the old name. The developer still calls it bronze in the video.

History

0.4-alpha	The spear (then "bronze spear") was buffed to Lunge III.
1.10	Hepatizon was renamed from "Bronze" in the language file only, so existing items keep working. Buffed hepatizon equipment.
1.12	The spear's real attack speed now matches its tooltip.
1.12.1-alpha	Mining speed raised from about 13 to 20, so that hepatizon stays useful after adamant. Mattock and dolabra mining speed raised from about 12 to 15.
1.12.2	Dolabras were redefined as axe (tool) and pickaxe hybrids rather than weapons: damage goes down and weapon intrinsics are removed over time.
