A claymore is a heavy sword that can block attacks like a shield. There are two: the steel claymore and the adamant claymore.
Obtaining
Both are smithed with a smithing upgrade template: an iron sword with steel alloy, or a diamond sword with adamant alloy.
Usage
Using a claymore raises it to block. The steel claymore blocks 70% of melee and 60% of projectile damage; the adamant claymore 80% and 70%. Blocking costs durability equal to a quarter of the blocked damage, and axes disable the steel claymore twice as long as a shield.[1]
