A hepatizon pickaxe is the hepatizon pickaxe, made by smithing a copper pickaxe with hepatizon alloy. At speed 20 it is the fastest pickaxe in the pack, faster even than adamant (15).

The upgrade needs no template, and enchantments on the copper item carry over.[1]
Usage
Mining
It breaks pickaxe blocks at speed 20 and has 1000 durability. Obsidian itself breaks at speed 3 and drops nothing, but crying obsidian and ender chests are harvested normally.[2] The 1.12.1-alpha notes say that with Efficiency V it breaks stone instantly without Haste.
The pack also makes glass, glass panes, glowstone, sea lanterns and mob heads pickaxe blocks.[3]
Combat
It deals 4.5 ( × 2.25) damage at an attack speed of 1.2. While held in the main hand it adds 0.0055 to movement speed, 5.5% of the player's base speed.
Repairing
It can be repaired in an anvil with blocks of copper. The pack resets repair costs to zero, so it can be repaired indefinitely; see Repairing.

An apprentice weaponsmith buys it for one hepatizon alloy, so the alloy can be reused.[4]
Notes
- Hepatizon tools reuse the stone tools' item IDs, so they cannot be melted down in a blast furnace.
History
