Hellbricks are a dark brick block from Hell. They are the vanilla nether bricks under a new name, with a near-black texture. The family also includes cracked, chiseled and red hellbricks and the slabs, stairs, walls and fence of the vanilla set.

Crafting
| Name | Ingredients | Recipe |
|---|---|---|
| Hellbricks | 2 × Hellbrick Slab | |
| Hellbricks (vanilla recipe) | 4 × Hellbrick |
Cooking
| Name | Ingredients | Recipe |
|---|---|---|
| Hellbricks | Hellstone | 10 s, 0.1 XP |
Hellbricks can be made two ways:
- Four hellbrick items in a square, as in vanilla.
- By cooking one hellstone in an oven for 10 seconds. This gives a full block from a single hellstone, where the crafting route needs four blast-furnace hellbricks.[1]
Natural generation
Nether fortresses are built from hellbricks, hellbrick fences and stairs, because the blocks keep their vanilla IDs.

Variants
Cracked Hellbricks
Cracked hellbricks are made by cooking hellbricks in a blast furnace (5 seconds). The vanilla furnace recipe is removed.[2]
| Name | Ingredients | Recipe |
|---|---|---|
| Cracked Hellbricks | Hellbricks | 5 s, 0.1 XP |
Chiseled Hellbricks
Chiseled hellbricks can only be made in a stonecutter. The vanilla recipe from two slabs is removed.[3]
| Name | Ingredients | Recipe |
|---|---|---|
| Chiseled Hellbricks (vanilla recipe) | Hellbricks |
Red Hellbricks
Two blocks of hellbricks and two hellspore, placed diagonally, make 2 red hellbricks. The pack replaces the vanilla recipe, which took two hellbrick items and made one block.[4]
| Name | Ingredients | Recipe |
|---|---|---|
| Red Hellbricks | 2 × Red Hellbrick Slab | |
| Red Hellbricks | 2 × Hellbricks + 2 × Hellspore |
|
| Red Hellbricks (vanilla recipe) | 2 × Hellbrick + 2 × Hellspore |
Slabs, stairs, walls and fence
Hellbricks and red hellbricks each have a slab, stairs and a wall, and hellbricks also have a fence. A stonecutter cuts one block of hellbricks into 3 hellbrick fences.[5] Two slabs of either kind craft back into the full block.
