A steel axe is the steel axe, made by smithing an iron axe with steel alloy. It ties with the adamant axe as the hardest-hitting axe, and each hit knocks the target back.

The upgrade needs no template. Enchantments on the iron item carry over; where both items have the same enchantment, the higher level is kept.

Usage

Woodcutting

It breaks axe blocks at speed 8 and has 3000 durability. Matcha Flavoured adds beds, candles, cacti and honeycomb blocks to the blocks that axes break quickly.

Combat

It deals 10 ( × 5) damage at an attack speed of 0.7 and adds 2 attack knockback. It swings more slowly than any other axe.

Repairing

It can be repaired in an anvil with iron ingots. The pack resets repair costs to zero, so it can be repaired indefinitely; see Repairing.

• The hand-written tooltip hides the real attributes and shows attack damage 9 (real value 10).
