Deepslate
Deepslate is the hard stone that makes up the Overworld below Y=0. As in vanilla Minecraft, it drops cobbled deepslate when mined. In Matcha Flavoured, cobbled deepslate is fired back into deepslate in a mud kiln rather than a furnace, and a wooden pickaxe breaks it without dropping anything.

Deepslate and cobbled deepslate need a pickaxe other than a wooden one: the pack's wooden pickaxe gets nothing from deepslate, cobbled deepslate or polished deepslate.[1] A tool with the adamant tool intrinsic smelts cobbled deepslate as it is mined, so it drops deepslate.[2]

Cobbled deepslate is fired into deepslate in a mud kiln (5 seconds); the vanilla furnace recipe is removed.[3][4]
Trading
The Mason sells 2 bulk deepslate for 1 obol at the apprentice level; each unpacks into 64 deepslate.[5]
Usage
Cobbled deepslate, like cobblestone, can be blasted into gravel. Four cobbled deepslate make 4 polished deepslate, the main ingredient of the blast furnace; see Progression. Deepslate can also be fired into polished deepslate in a mud kiln (5 seconds), one block for one.[6] Two cobbled deepslate slabs craft back into a cobbled deepslate block. Picking up cobbled deepslate unlocks both recipes, along with the kiln recipe for deepslate.[7][8]
