An iron pickaxe is the iron pickaxe, crafted from three iron ingots and two sticks. It is the first pickaxe that can harvest every ore in the pack, including diamond ore and native gold, but not obsidian.

Usage

Mining

The iron pickaxe breaks pickaxe blocks at speed 7, one faster than the copper pickaxe and the vanilla iron pickaxe, and has 500 durability, twice vanilla's 250.

Obsidian, crying obsidian and ender chests break at speed 3 and drop nothing.[1] A diamond pickaxe (or an iron or steel dolabra) is needed to collect them.

The pack also makes glass, glass panes, glowstone, sea lanterns and mob heads pickaxe blocks.[2]

Combat

It deals 4 (Heart × 2) damage at an attack speed of 1.2.

Repairing

It can be repaired in an anvil with iron ingots. The pack resets repair costs to zero, so it can be repaired indefinitely; see Repairing.
