A steel spear is the steel spear, made by smithing an iron spear with steel alloy.

The upgrade needs no template. Enchantments on the iron item carry over; where both items have the same enchantment, the higher level is kept.[1]
Usage
Combat
It deals 4 ( × 2) damage at an attack speed of 0.9, adds 1 attack knockback, and has 3000 durability.
Repairing
It can be repaired in an anvil with iron ingots. The pack resets repair costs to zero, so it can be repaired indefinitely; see Repairing.
