A shakudo pickaxe is the shakudo pickaxe, made by smithing a copper pickaxe with shakudo alloy. It has Silk Touch built in, one of the few ways to mine with Silk Touch in a pack without enchanting tables.

The upgrade needs no template. Enchantments on the copper item carry over; where both items have the same enchantment, the higher level is kept.[1]
Usage
Mining
It breaks pickaxe blocks at speed 9, the same as a diamond pickaxe, and has 1000 durability. Its only restriction is obsidian itself, which breaks at speed 3 without dropping; crying obsidian and ender chests are harvested normally.[2]
The pack also makes glass, glass panes, glowstone, sea lanterns and mob heads pickaxe blocks.[3]
Intrinsics
Its Silk Touch intrinsic makes blocks drop themselves. Intrinsics are stored on the item and applied as enchantments when it enters a player's inventory.[4]
Combat
It deals 4 (
× 2) damage with no attack cooldown: the item sets a damage bonus but no attack speed.
Repairing
It can be repaired in an anvil with blocks of copper. The pack resets repair costs to zero, so it can be repaired indefinitely; see Repairing.

Trading
An apprentice weaponsmith buys it for one shakudo alloy, which lets the alloy be reused on a fresh copper item.[5]
Notes
- The hand-written tooltip hides the real attributes and shows attack speed 1.2 (real value 4).[6]
- Shakudo tools reuse the stone tools' item IDs, so they cannot be melted down in a blast furnace.
History
| 1.10 | Renamed from "Palatinate" in the language file only, so existing items keep working. Shakudo alloy became more expensive (2 blocks of gold and 4 blocks of copper instead of 3 gold and 6 copper ingots). A weaponsmith now takes the item back in exchange for its alloy, so players can rebuild it with updated stats. |
|---|---|
| 1.12.1-alpha | Smithing no longer takes an ingot in the template slot, and the upgrade keeps the base item's enchantments. Added the "Repaired with" tooltip. Shakudo intrinsics are now exclusive with the electrum and adamant intrinsics. |
| 1.12.2 | Moved to the matcha namespace; older copies can be updated with /trigger update_item.
