A steel sword is the steel sword, made by smithing an iron sword with steel alloy. It trades a little attack speed for knockback and very high durability.

The upgrade needs no template. Enchantments on the iron item carry over; where both items have the same enchantment, the higher level is kept.[1]
Usage
Combat
It deals 6 ( × 3) damage, the same as the iron sword, at an attack speed of 1.4 instead of 1.6. Each hit adds 1 attack knockback. It has 3000 durability.
Repairing
It can be repaired in an anvil with iron ingots. The pack resets repair costs to zero, so it can be repaired indefinitely; see Repairing.
