A shakudo chestplate is a chestplate of the shakudo tier, made by smithing a copper chestplate with shakudo alloy. It clears Poison.

The upgrade needs no template. Enchantments on the copper item carry over; where both items have the same enchantment, the higher level is kept.

Usage

Armor

It gives 8 armor with 500 durability, the same armor as the matching diamond piece but with no toughness. The full shakudo set gives 20 armor.

Intrinsics

• Cleanse: removes Poison from the wearer whenever it is applied.
• Magic protection: Magic protection adds 8 protection points against magic damage, such as Poison and Instant Damage.
• Regeneration: Every worn piece of shakudo armor counts towards the tier's regeneration: with one piece the wearer gets  Regeneration I for 3 seconds every 30 seconds, and with two, three and four pieces the interval shortens to 26, 22 and 18 seconds. The shakudo elytra counts as one piece. Each player has their own timer, which starts when the first piece is put on. The pack defines an elytra bonus that would count five and grant Regeneration II, but the elytra does not carry it, so four pieces is the most that can be reached (see Set bonus#Shakudo regeneration).
• Wither resistance: 1. Each worn piece of shakudo armor adds a level of wither resistance, up to 4, which delays the heart loss of the Wither effect by 2 seconds for the first level and 1 second for each further level (see Wither effect#Shakudo wither resistance).

Intrinsics are stored on the item and applied as enchantments when it enters a player's inventory.

Repairing

It can be repaired in an anvil with blocks of copper. The pack resets repair costs to zero, so it can be repaired indefinitely; see Repairing.

It keeps the copper armor item ID, so a blast furnace melts it into a single copper ingot, and it can be smithed again into hepatizon armor.

Trading

An apprentice weaponsmith buys it for one shakudo alloy, which lets the alloy be reused on a fresh copper item.

History

0.4-alpha	Shakudo armor could not be crafted; this was fixed.
1.10	Renamed from "Palatinate" in the language file only, so existing items keep working. Shakudo alloy became more expensive (2 blocks of gold and 4 blocks of copper instead of 3 gold and 6 copper ingots). Added the regeneration intrinsic and its per-piece bonus. A weaponsmith now takes the item back in exchange for its alloy, so players can rebuild it with updated stats.
1.12	Fixed severe multiplayer lag caused by shakudo armor.
1.12.1-alpha	Smithing no longer takes an ingot in the template slot, and the upgrade keeps the base item's enchantments. Added the "Repaired with" tooltip. Shakudo armor was nerfed, and its intrinsics became exclusive with the electrum and adamant ones.
1.12.2	Moved to the matcha namespace; older copies can be updated with /trigger update_item. No longer cleanses the Wither effect.
1.12.6-alpha	Added wither resistance. The regeneration timer is kept for each player and starts when the armor is put on, and a piece held in the main hand no longer counts toward it.
