TooltipHealthHealth Cooldown (00:30)

Divinity is the set bonus shared by full sets of adamant and electrum armor. Every 30 seconds it gives the wearer 2 hearts of Absorption, a shield of extra health that is refilled for as long as the set is worn.

Mechanics

Every 30 seconds, every player wearing all four pieces of adamant armor or all four pieces of electrum armor receives Absorption I for 31 seconds, with no particles.[1][2] Absorption I gives 4 (Heart × 2) of absorption health. Because the effect lasts one second longer than the interval, it never runs out while the set is worn, and whatever absorption was lost is restored on the next 30-second pulse.

The tooltip line HealthHealth Cooldown (00:30) appears in aqua under "Set Bonus:" on every piece. The timer is shared by the whole server and does not start when the set is put on, so the first refill after equipping can take anywhere up to 30 seconds.[3]

Mixing sets doesn't work: the pieces are counted per material, and a set of two adamant and two electrum pieces gives no divinity.

Adamant pickaxe

The Adamant Pickaxe also lists the divinity line under "Set Bonus:" in its tooltip. Tools are not counted by the set bonus, so the line has no effect.[4]

Unused per-piece divinity

The pack still contains a per-piece divinity counter that would give Health Boost I to IV for one to four pieces, left over from the 1.12.1-alpha adamant rework.[5][6] No matcha:divinity enchantment is defined any more, so nothing raises the counter and this part never runs.

History

1.10 Adamant's set bonus was nerfed slightly.
1.12.1-alpha Adamant was reworked. Each adamant piece now gave Health Boost hearts instead of absorption ("soul") hearts, and the set bonus was reduced to 2 absorption hearts.

The electrum set bonus was reduced from 4 hearts to 2. The divinity enchantment was removed from all tools and weapons and replaced with Sharpness or Efficiency.

1.12.2 The per-piece health boost of adamant armor was replaced by Doom. Only the set bonus remains.

Trivia

  • The release notes call absorption hearts "soul hearts".[7] The developer reduced them because "while the soul heart buffer is great for minimising small amounts of damage, it won't be so much that the player never needs to bother with eating".[8]
  • The advancement for adamant reads "Adamant grants the wielder a Divine Constitution".
