Estus Ash is a magic material that replaces glowstone dust. It is the most common form of estus and the pack's basic magic ingredient, used for blessings, Stabilized Estus and many foods. Most Estus Ash comes from Raw Estus, which turns into Estus Ash as soon as the player picks it up.

Obtaining

Raw Estus

Every Raw Estus that enters a player's inventory is replaced with one Estus Ash, and heals the player at the same time. See Raw Estus#Behavior.[1]

Crystallized Estus

Crystallized Estus (glowstone) generates naturally in Hell. Breaking it without Silk Touch drops 2–4 Estus Ash, as in vanilla; Fortune raises the count but it never exceeds 4.

Loot

Chance is the probability that a single chest, mob or catch yields at least one, assuming no Looting, Luck or Fortune.

For skeletons, strays and bogged, the chosen drop is 0 or 1 Estus Ash with equal odds; the "Chance" column already includes this, giving 50% for skeletons and strays and about 45% for bogged.[2] Witches killed by a player always drop 4–8 Estus Ash, plus 0–1 per level of Looting.[3] The fishing junk entry was added so that players on Peaceful can still get Estus Ash.[4]

Usage

Estus Ash is used for Stabilized Estus (seven per piece), five blessings, Crystallized Estus, Spectral Arrows and many foods, including the curry stocks and the empanadas and cupcakes.
