A kettle is the Matcha Flavoured name for the brewing stand. Brewing is effectively removed from the pack, so the kettle serves mainly as the job site block of the Chemist (the pack's cleric) and as decoration. Until 1.12.8-beta it was called the chemistry stand; the release notes list the new name as an expected issue: "Chemistry Stand name is messed up, don't worry about it (Shh)".[1]

The vanilla recipe, which needs a blaze rod, is replaced with one that uses an iron ingot and a copper ingot over three cobblestone, blackstone or cobbled deepslate.[2][3]

Usage

Job site

The kettle is the job site block of the Chemist, who sells splash potions.

Brewing

Main article: Brewing

The kettle opens the vanilla brewing interface, which has no title since 1.12.8-beta (it was titled "Chemistry Stand" before),[4] but it cannot be fueled: the pack empties the #minecraft:brewing_fuel item tag, which normally holds blaze powder (Raw Estus).[5]

History

1.10 Fixed the recipe unlock.
1.12.1-alpha Raw Estus no longer works as fuel.[6]
1.12.8-beta
October 23, 2026
Renamed from chemistry stand to kettle. The brewing interface lost its "Chemistry Stand" title.
