Brewing
Brewing is effectively removed from Matcha Flavoured. The brewing stand, renamed the Chemistry Stand, cannot be fueled, and the effects that potions gave in vanilla come from food instead. The only potions left are splash potions sold by the Chemist, tipped arrows sold by the Fletcher, and the vanilla potions found in loot.
Removal
The pack's introduction video explains that food takes the place of potions:
I made the decision to offload most potion effects into foods. [...] Allowing foods to take over the niche once held by potions means that players will search for more diverse food intakes based on the potion effect they need. And because unlike potions, food stack, it makes obtaining potion effects far more accessible.[1]

Brewing is disabled in several ways:
- No fuel. The
#minecraft:brewing_fueltag is emptied, so nothing can fuel a Chemistry Stand.[2] - No blaze powder. Blaze powder is Raw Estus, which turns into Estus Ash as soon as it is picked up, and its vanilla recipe from blaze rods is removed.
- Ingredients repurposed. The recipes for the glistering melon slice, magma cream and fermented spider eye are removed, and those items are repurposed as foods: the Baked Golden Apple, Sweet Berry Mash and Baked Apple.[3] Glowstone dust became Estus Ash, and gunpowder became the Sulfur Chunk.
- Water bottles. The "Uncraftable Potion" is renamed to "Water Bottle" for use in crafting recipes.[4]
Potions in the pack
- Splash potions of Slowness, Weaving, Oozing, Infestation, Wind Charging, Wither and Darkness are sold by the Chemist.
- Apotropaic Arrows (Healing II) and Nightshade Arrows (Poison II) are sold by the Fletcher.
- Some throwable foods behave like splash potions, such as Bubbling Mead and Pickled Warped Fungus.[5]
