Trailblaze is an enchantment added by Matcha Flavoured for boots that makes the wearer faster on paths, gravel and mud bricks. Its internal name is Traversal.

Obtaining

• Prayer of St. Clement, a crafted blessing (Trailblaze III).
• The Prayer of Exodus Ofuda, traded from the Mouthpiece for The Tanakh (Trailblaze III, with Loyalty III and Power II).
• Sturdy Leather Boots are crafted with Trailblaze I, and those found in chests have it too.

Behavior

Speed

While the wearer walks on a path block, their movement speed increases by 0.0155 per level (added to the base player speed of 0.1), so Trailblaze III makes them about 46% faster. The bonus stays while they jump off the path and ends once they land on another block. It does not apply while riding or flying.

The path blocks are the pack's #matcha:is_path tag:

• dirt path and coarse dirt
• gravel
• packed mud, mud bricks and their slabs and stairs
• Dirt Slabs

Durability and particles

Each time the wearer moves while on the ground on a path block, the boots have a 4% chance per level to lose 1 durability. Walking on a path block kicks up dirt particles every 5 ticks.

Trailblaze's anvil cost multiplier is 0.

Issues

The developer's notes record that the speed boost from mud brick slabs applies after a jump but not when running normally.
