Tomatoes are a raw ingredient whose intrinsic is
Strength. They replace beetroots. Eaten raw, they heal 2 (
× 1).[1]
Obtaining
Farming
Tomatoes grow from tomato seeds like beetroots. A fully grown crop drops 1 to 3 tomatoes and no seeds; an unripe one drops 1 seed.[2] Seeds are made by crafting a tomato into 3 seeds.
Chance is the probability that a single chest, mob or catch yields at least one, assuming no Looting, Luck or Fortune.

Usage
Food
Eating tomatoes heals 2 (
× 1).
Picking up tomatoes unlocks grilled tomatoes, sun-dried tomatoes, bruschetta and Kontomire-Dandelion Stew. Tomatoes are also used in the three pizzas, paneer curry stock and 2 tomatoes make 2 red dye. The vanilla beetroot-to-red-dye recipe is removed.

History
| 0.6-alpha | Tomato soup renamed to grilled tomatoes, and pickled tomatoes to sun-dried tomatoes. |
|---|---|
| 1.10 | Tomato recipes unlock from raw tomatoes. |
| 1.12.2 | Fortune works on tomatoes. |
Trivia
- The loot table applies Fortune and the Electrum tool intrinsic and then sets the count to 1 to 3, which overrides both bonuses, so neither actually increases the harvest.
