Bread is baked dough. It heals 4 ( × 2) and removes harmful effects ("Cleanse Maleffect"), which makes it a cheap cure for the Wither effect and poison.[1]

Dough bakes into bread in an oven in 5 seconds or on kindling in 10 seconds. The vanilla recipe from wheat is removed. In a mud kiln, dough becomes naan instead.

Chance is the probability that a single chest, mob or catch yields at least one, assuming no Looting, Luck or Fortune.

Usage

Food

Eating bread takes 1.6 seconds, heals 4 ( × 2) and removes Poison, Mining Fatigue, Wither, Weakness, Bad Omen, Blindness, Darkness, Infested, Weaving, Nausea, Oozing, Slowness and Hunger (the effects in the pack's harmful group).[2][3] The developer asks players to bring milk or bread to Hell.[4]

Obtaining bread unlocks French toast. Bread is used in bruschetta, French toast, honied French toast, sweet berry toast, latkes and ice cream. Naan can be used in its place.

History

0.7-alpha Bread is made from dough and cleanses maleffects.
1.0 Bread found in chests is the same as crafted bread.
1.10 New cleanse tooltip icon, so older bread doesn't stack with new bread. Chest bread updated to match.
1.12.3 Bread is a plain consumable without a food component, and its effect removal uses the pack's list of harmful effects. The effects removed and the healing are unchanged.[5]
1.12.6-alpha Cooking on kindling takes 10 seconds, up from 5.[6][7] Bread also removes Hunger, which the pack added to its harmful group.[8]
