Hero of the Village gifts are the items that villagers throw to a player who has the Hero of the Village effect, which is given for defending a village from a raid. Since 1.12.9 Matcha Flavoured replaces every profession's gift with its own: seeds and crops from the Farmer, dishes from the Cook, earrings from the Jeweler, bulk blocks from the Mason and so on.[1]
Mechanics
The effect and the way villagers give gifts work as in vanilla: while the player has the effect, villagers near the player now and then throw a gift, rolled from the loot table of their profession. Only the loot tables are changed. Each table rolls once and gives one entry; the tables below list the chance of each.[2]
A raid starts when a player with Bad Omen or Raid Omen enters a village, and the pack lets players craft the ominous bottle that gives it.[3] The pack's villages generate without villagers, so the villagers that give gifts are ones the player has brought in or bred (see Villager#Spawning).
Gifts
Each section is named after the pack's profession, with the vanilla profession it renames in brackets.
Farmer
A farmer gives seeds, crops, mushrooms, 16 bone meal or a fertilized egg of one of the three chicken breeds. The sweet berries, glow berries and carrots come from the pack's own food tables, so they heal and stack like harvested ones.[4]
The white egg is a bug: it places a baby temperate chicken like the fertilized egg the farmer sells, but it asks for the name key item.kleispack.fertilised_white_egg, which no language file has, and the item model minecraft:white_egg, which doesn't exist. In game it shows the untranslated key and the missing-model texture, and it doesn't stack with the sold egg. The wiki calls it "Fertilised White Egg" (see Known bugs).[5][6]

Fisherman
A fisherman gives 4 cod, salmon or tropical fish, a bucket holding one of those fish, or, rarely, a fishing rod with one random enchantment. The fish are plain vanilla items without the rarity line that fishing adds, so the Fisherman won't buy them back.[7]

Babies and unemployed villagers
The pack's tables for baby and unemployed villagers give the same as vanilla's: a baby gives a poppy, and an unemployed villager one wheat grain (the renamed wheat seeds).[21][22]
History
| 1.12.9 October 31, 2026 |
Every profession gives the pack's own gifts. Until then villagers gave vanilla's: chainmail armor from engineers, cooked meats from cooks, stone tools from jewelers, stone, iron and golden axes from weaponsmiths, and bread, pumpkin pie or cookies from farmers, among others. Stone tools and pumpkin pie can't be obtained any more.[23][24] |
