Glow berries are a raw ingredient whose intrinsic is Aura: a few seconds after eating one of their dishes, every other creature within 50 blocks starts glowing, so it can be seen through walls. Eaten raw, glow berries heal 1 ( × 0.5).[1] The developer suggests them for caving.[2]
Obtaining
Harvesting
Cave vines give and drop the pack's glow berries.[3] Unlike vanilla, the pack's loot table for breaking cave vines has no check for berries, so every cave vine block drops a glow berry when broken, whether or not it is bearing fruit. Fortune and the Electrum tool intrinsic each add 0 to 1 extra berry per level when a vine block (the plant) is broken, but not when the tip is.[4][5]

Behavior
Aura
Aura isn't a status effect. Eating glow berry mash, glow berry jam or glow berry crumble triggers an advancement that plays a resonating bell sound and, 2.4 seconds later, gives Glowing to every entity within 50 blocks of the player, excluding the player, for 3 seconds, 30 seconds or 1 minute.[6][7]
History
| 1.10 | Glow berry mash works. |
|---|---|
| 1.12.2 | Fortune works on glow berry vines. |
| 1.12.3 | Fortune and the electrum intrinsic no longer add berries when the tip of a cave vine is broken; the vine blocks below it still do.[8] |
| 1.12.4 | Glow berry mash, jam and crumble made in this version gave no aura, because the aura advancements didn't expect the item updater's version number in their custom data.[9]
|
| 1.12.5 | Fixed the aura of glow berry foods.[10] |
