A glass bottle is a container for liquids. It is far cheaper to make in Matcha Flavoured than in vanilla Minecraft, because the pack uses bottles in many recipes: every preserve and pickle in the food system, benzene, milk bottles and oil. Filled with water it becomes a water bottle, which stacks to 64 and is used in crafting as a source of water.

- Three glass in a V shape make 9 bottles, three times the vanilla output.[1]
- A single glass block makes 3 bottles on its own.[2]
Both give 3 bottles per glass. The vanilla recipe is removed. Picking up glass unlocks the V-shaped recipe.[3]
Returned from crafting
Recipes that use up a water bottle give the empty bottle back to the player. This covers flower cloning, making mud, clay from mud, concrete from concrete powder, aging copper, phosphor, green dye, stabilized estus, the hell-bound book and a number of foods. The bottle is added to the inventory by a function when the recipe is crafted, not left in the crafting grid.[4][5] Eating a jar of glow berry jam also leaves a bottle.

Usage
Water bottle
A water bottle is a glass bottle filled from a water source, as in vanilla. The pack changes it in two ways:
- It stacks to 64. When a player who is not in Creative mode picks up or fills a water bottle, the pack swaps it for an identical water bottle that stacks to 64.[6] The check does not run in Creative mode, where the game refills items and the swap could duplicate bottles.[7]
- It is a crafting ingredient. Many of the pack's recipes use a water bottle as their water. The recipe book shows these ingredients as a plain, contentless potion, which vanilla names "Uncraftable Potion"; the pack renames it "Water Bottle" so the recipes read correctly.[8] The recipes accept any potion in that slot.
Recipes that use a water bottle include:
| Recipe | Result |
|---|---|
| Water bottle + 8 dirt | 8 mud |
| Water bottle + 8 mud | 4 clay |
| Water bottle + 8 concrete powder | 8 concrete |
| Water bottle + a copper block (or copper item) | the next oxidation stage |
| Water bottle + flower + bone meal | 4 of that flower (see Hyacinth#Cloning) |
| Water bottle + sulfur chunk + 4 glow lichen | 8 phosphor |
| Water bottle + raw copper + sulfur chunk | 2 green dye |
Water bottles can also be caught while fishing; the Angler's Almanac gives the chance as 9% of junk catches.[9]
