Glow Lichen

| Defined in | glow_lichen.json |
Glow lichen is a dim light-emitting plant that grows on cave walls, floors and ceilings. It generates and spreads as in vanilla Minecraft. In Matcha Flavoured it is the raw material for phosphor, can be harvested with a hoe, and has new three-dimensional models.
Obtaining
Glow lichen drops itself when broken with shears or any hoe; the pack adds hoes to the tools that collect it. Each face of the block drops one lichen, as in vanilla.[1][2] Glow lichen is also in the hoe's mineable list, so hoes break it quickly.[3]
Usage
| Name | Ingredients | Recipe |
|---|---|---|
| Phosphor | Potion + Sulfur Chunk + 4 × Glow Lichen |
matcha:crafting/phosphor |
Four glow lichen, a water bottle and a sulfur chunk make 8 phosphor, the ingredient of phosphor lamps and phosphor rods.[4] Picking up glow lichen unlocks the phosphor recipes.[5]
Appearance
The resource pack replaces the flat vanilla sheet with models that depend on where the lichen grows:
- On walls it randomly uses one of two models.
- On the floor it forms small fanned tufts that stick up from the ground.[6]
- On the ceiling it uses animated textures that look like hanging cave worms.[7][8]
