Usage
Using a bulk block (pressing use while holding it) unpacks it instantly: one bulk block is used up and replaced by 64 of its block, which go straight into the inventory.[2] Unpacking takes no time and plays the sound of a stone block falling. The tooltip shows what the bulk block holds (for example "x64 Andesite") and "Use to unpack".
Behavior
A bulk block is a poisonous potato with its food properties removed. It is made "consumable" with a use time of 0 seconds and no effects, and the unpacked blocks are its use remainder, the item left behind after it is consumed.[3] As with any use remainder, if the inventory is full the blocks are dropped instead.
Loot tables
The data pack also has a loot table for each bulk block except dirt, under matcha:materials/bulk/ (for example /loot give @s loot matcha:materials/bulk/andesite). No chest, mob or trade uses them. The items they give unpack the same way, but use the vanilla block's model as their icon instead of the bulk block model.[4]
