This is the Matcha Flavoured version of Librarian, renamed or changed from vanilla Minecraft.

The Mouthpiece is a villager profession that trades sacred texts for crystal hearts and Ofuda. It replaces the librarian, and its job site block is the Lectern. It sells none of the vanilla librarian's enchanted books, since enchanting in Matcha Flavoured works through blessings and Ofuda instead.

All trades can be used 999 times before restocking.[1] Every level offers all of its trades.

Crystal hearts

At Novice level the mouthpiece exchanges Paradise Lost or The Divine Comedy for a crystal heart, one book per heart. It also sells 16 Stable Voids for 1 obol.

Ofuda

The Apprentice, Journeyman and Expert trades turn a sacred text and one or two crystal hearts into an Ofuda, an enchanted book that carries a named prayer:[2]

The Ofuda is applied to equipment with an anvil, like a vanilla enchanted book; see Ofuda.

Pith

At Master level the mouthpiece turns 2 crystal hearts and an echo shard into pith.[3] The developer added this as a trade because pith cannot be crafted directly.[4]

Like every villager, a mouthpiece that has been traded with will also buy its favorite food once.

History

0.6-alpha No longer sells Divine Fragments, to discourage mob farms.
1.10 Added the Ofuda trades for The Tanakh (Prayer of Exodus) and The Quran (Prayer of The Prophet).
1.12 Crystal hearts from trades can no longer be eaten.
1.12.1-alpha Sells Divine Fragments for crystal hearts and an echo shard.
1.12.2 The Ofuda trades require crystal hearts. The pith trade costs 2 crystal hearts instead of 1.[5]

Trivia

  • Internally the profession is still minecraft:librarian; only its displayed name changes.[6]
  • The developer has said the idea behind the Mouthpiece is that all of the world's religions point, in some way, to the pack's dead god.[7]
