Sacred texts are seven rare books found as treasure in structures. They have no use on their own; the Mouthpiece trades them for crystal hearts and Ofuda, and the Archaeologist trades two of them for a map to the Overgrown Abbey.
The books are religious scriptures, esoteric and apocryphal texts, and two epic poems:

The Quran, the Tanakh and the Book of Enoch show their titles in Arabic and Hebrew in the tooltip.[1] All seven are books underneath, with their own names and textures, and stack to 64.[2] See Mouthpiece#Ofuda for the trades, which the Mouthpiece offers from Apprentice to Expert level.

Trivia
- Splash texts added in 1.10 call the Divine Comedy "Hashem's Favourite Fan Fiction" and Paradise Lost "Satan's Favourite Fan Fiction".[6] The 1.12.1-alpha release notes refer to the two poems as "Christian Fan fiction".
- The developer has described plans for sacred texts to be traded for maps that lead from one structure to the next: "The Moutpiece seeks wisdom, the Archaeologist seeks knowledge."[7]
- The release notes for 1.12.2 call adding the Quran and the Tanakh to trial chamber loot a "Temp fix".
