Poplar

This is the Matcha Flavoured version of Poplar, renamed or changed from vanilla Minecraft.

Poplar is a wood type that arrived with Minecraft 26.3. It grows as tall trees with red, orange or yellow autumn leaves in the dappled forest. Matcha Flavoured gives poplar the same stonecutter recipes as the other woods, a Lumberjack trade, a leaf-to-sapling recipe, and its own tree height and textures.

Obtaining

Natural generation

Poplar trees with red, orange or yellow leaves generate in the dappled forest biome, some with fallen leaves around them, along with fallen poplar trees. The pack makes the trunk of every one of these trees two blocks taller than in vanilla Minecraft (a base height of 9 instead of 7). A tree can carry shelf mushrooms.

Leaves

Poplar leaves drop only themselves, and only when broken with shears or a tool with Silk Touch. They drop no saplings or sticks, like every leaf in the pack. A red, orange or yellow poplar leaf block is crafted into a poplar sapling. Picking up a poplar log unlocks the recipe.

Trading

A Lumberjack at the apprentice level sells 64 poplar logs for 1 obol and a poplar sapling.

Stonecutting

A stonecutter cuts any poplar log (a log, wood, or the stripped form of either) into other poplar blocks, as it does for the other woods:

Poplar Planks	Pale grey. A vertical version of the texture is used for double slabs (see Vertical slabs). Two poplar slabs craft back into one plank block, a recipe unlocked by picking up poplar planks.

History

1.12.1-alpha	Poplar stonecutter recipes and a poplar sapling recipe added, naming items that don't exist in 26.2.
1.12.2	Added poplar leaf, log and plank textures. Removed the poplar stonecutter and sapling recipes.
1.12.6-alpha	Poplar is in the game with Minecraft 26.3 (first in the 1.12.3 alpha for 26.3). Poplar stonecutter recipes, the poplar sapling recipe and a Lumberjack trade for poplar logs are added again. Poplar trees are two blocks taller than in vanilla. Poplar leaves get new textures, like every leaf in the pack.
1.12.9 October 31, 2026	Poplar logs and wood can be cut into stripped poplar logs and stripped poplar wood, and two poplar slabs craft back into planks, as for the other woods.
