TNT is an explosive block. It explodes as in vanilla Minecraft, but it is cheaper to craft, and it is the base of the bedrock buster.

matcha:crafting/tnt

Four sulfur chunks alternating with five paper or sand make 2 TNT, where the vanilla recipe (gunpowder and sand) makes one.[1] The vanilla recipe is removed.[2] Picking up a sulfur chunk or a block of sulfur unlocks the recipe.[3]

Eight TNT around a divine fragment make a bedrock buster, a TNT that also clears bedrock when it explodes.[4]

Behavior

Endermen can pick up TNT. In Matcha Flavoured it is one of only three blocks they can carry, with melons and pumpkins.[5]

Trying to place a warding stone somewhere it is forbidden summons a lit TNT with no fuse at that spot.[6]

History

1.12 TNT recipe unlocks were fixed.
1.12.1-alpha TNT recipe unlocks were fixed again.
1.12.2 Endermen can pick up only melons, pumpkins and TNT.
