A bookshelf is a decorative block. Matcha Flavoured makes it cheaper to craft and reduces the books it drops. Since the pack removes the enchanting table, bookshelves are decorative only.

Three books between two rows of wooden slabs make 3 bookshelves.[1] The vanilla recipe (six planks and three books for one bookshelf) is removed.[2]

Drops

A bookshelf broken without Silk Touch drops 1 book, where vanilla drops 3. The change matches the cheaper recipe: a bookshelf costs one book to make.[3]

Bookshelves are used for decoration, and in the vanilla lectern recipe. Chiseled bookshelves are made from any log in a stonecutter.[4]

The resource pack retextures bookshelves and chiseled bookshelves.[5]

1.10 Bookshelves are cheaper to craft and drop fewer books.
1.12.1-alpha Chiseled bookshelves can be made in a stonecutter.

Trivia

  • Cheaper bookshelves were a player's suggestion, which the developer took from watching the YouTuber Flow State play the pack: since the enchanting table is removed, bookshelves are less useful and should cost less.[6]
