A phosphor rod is a thin light source. It is the vanilla end rod, renamed and given a new recipe that uses phosphor instead of materials from The End and Hell, so it can be made early. It gives light level 14 and can be placed facing any direction, as in vanilla.

Three phosphor in the middle column, with glass panes on both sides, make 6 phosphor rods.[1] The vanilla recipe, a blaze rod on popped chorus fruit, is removed.[2] The recipe unlocks with the other phosphor recipes.[3]
Natural generation
End cities contain phosphor rods, since they keep the vanilla end rod ID.
Usage
Phosphor rods are used as lighting, as in vanilla.
