A fire starter is a tool used to light fires, kindling, candles, TNT and nether portals. It is the vanilla flint and steel, renamed and made from two pieces of flint instead of flint and an iron ingot, so it can be made before the player has any metal.

Two flint make a fire starter.[1] The vanilla recipe is removed.[2] Picking up flint unlocks the recipe.[3]

Usage
The fire starter works exactly like vanilla flint and steel.
Trivia
- The pack contains two identical fire starter recipes,
fire_starterandflint_and_steel; only the first is unlocked in the recipe book.[4] - The item texture shows two pieces of flint rather than a steel striker.
