This is the Matcha Flavoured version of Short Grass, renamed or changed from vanilla Minecraft.

Short grass is the most common ground plant in the Overworld. Matcha Flavoured makes wheat grain (vanilla wheat seeds) drop from grass only when it is cut with a hoe, lets hoes collect grass and other plants the way shears do, and adds recipes that dry and combine grasses. This page also covers ferns, tall grass and the dry grasses, which follow the same rules.

[1][2][3][4] In vanilla, any tool or a bare hand gives the 12.5% seed chance from grass and ferns. In the pack only a hoe does, and ferns never drop seeds. Bushes and dry grasses can also be collected with Silk Touch.

  • Two short grass make a tall grass, and two ferns a large fern.[5]
  • Cooking short grass or a fern in an oven (5 seconds) or on kindling (10 seconds) gives short dry grass, and tall grass or a large fern gives tall dry grass. A bush cooks into a dead bush.[6]
  • Two short dry grass make a tall dry grass, and a tall dry grass splits back into 2 short. Straw crafts into 2 tall dry grass.
  • Short grass, a fern or a bush between two sticks makes tinder.[7]

History

1.02 Wheat seeds drop when grass is broken with a hoe.
1.03 Short dry grass can be crafted from tall dry grass.
1.10 Tinder can be made with a bush, fern or short grass.
Tall grass and large fern recipes unlock properly.
