Vertical slabs is the resource pack's name for the look of doubled wooden slabs. When two slabs of the same wood are stacked into a full block, Matcha Flavoured shows the block with the planks running vertically instead of horizontally. Since a double slab is otherwise identical to a block of planks, this gives builders a second plank texture for every wood type at no cost.

Behavior

Placing a second wooden slab on top of or beneath a first one creates a double slab, as in vanilla. The pack's resource pack gives every wooden double slab its own model, textured with a vertical version of that wood's planks. Single slabs, top and bottom, keep the normal plank texture.

The change is purely visual. The double slab is still the vanilla type=double state of the slab block; it drops two slabs when broken and behaves like any other double slab. Two slabs can also be crafted back into one plank block, which uses the horizontal texture.

Vertical textures exist for every wood that has slabs:

• The release notes credit the idea to a video by the YouTubers "barce & fwhip".
• The resource pack also has vertical textures for the sides and bottom of dispensers and droppers facing up or down.
