A Divine Favor is the rarest magic material in Matcha Flavoured. It replaces the nether star. A Divine Favor is worth nine Divine Fragments and can be crafted to and from them. It is awarded for killing the Ender Dragon for the first time and for killing the Wither.

Obtaining

Ender Dragon

The first time each player kills the Ender Dragon, a Divine Favor appears at the center of The End, at height 100 above the exit portal. The item never despawns.[1] The reward comes from the player's "Iconoclast" advancement, so each player can earn it once, and the killing blow must come from a player.[2] The same kill makes the surface safe from hostile mobs; see Surface.

Wither

The Wither drops a Divine Favor, as it drops a nether star in vanilla. Withers can only be spawned on the surface of the Overworld (in view of the sky and at height 63 or above); one spawned anywhere else is removed at once, along with any Divine Favor it would leave.[3][4]

Besides the beacon, a Divine Favor is needed for the two strongest blessings: the Prayer of Daedalus (Efficiency III and Unbreaking III) and the Prayer of Lu Ban (Mending). It can also be broken into 9 Divine Fragments.

Behavior

A Divine Favor lying on the ground floats: it has no gravity, sinks slowly while the block three below it is air, and rises while the block directly below it is not air. It gives off white flash particles.[5][6]

History

0.5-alpha Each player who kills the Ender Dragon for the first time now creates a new Divine Favor, even if other players have killed it before.[7]
1.10 Withers can no longer be spawned in the End.
1.12.2 Withers can only be spawned on the Overworld surface.
