This page lists vanilla features that Matcha Flavoured removes or disables, and features the pack itself once had but later removed. Most vanilla recipes the pack replaces are blocked through the filter in the datapack's pack.mcmeta, which hides 361 vanilla recipe files and the five vanilla advancement folders.

Removed vanilla features

Stone tools

The vanilla stone tool recipes are blocked. Progression goes from wood straight to copper. See Progression.

Hunger

The food bar is hidden and held in a fixed range: the pack applies Hunger when the food level is 10 or more and Saturation when it falls to 6 or lower, so the player can always sprint and food matters only for healing and effects. See Hunger.

Natural regeneration

The natural_health_regeneration gamerule is set to false on first load. The player heals by eating. See Natural regeneration.

Item loss on death

Keep inventory is turned on when the world is first loaded and when new players join. Death costs maximum health instead. See Death.

Phantoms

The spawn_phantoms gamerule is set to false.

Rotten flesh

Zombies drop tattered leather instead. The rotten flesh item ID is reused for glow berry mash.

Enchanting table and random enchanting

The enchanting table recipe is blocked; enchantments are crafted as blessings. A broken enchanting table drops its parts. The recipe was blocked in 1.10; the developer had thought it was already blocked.

Potions and brewing

The vanilla brewing stand, fermented spider eye, glistering melon and magma cream recipes are blocked, and most potion effects come from food instead. See Brewing.

Vanilla advancements

All five vanilla advancement tabs are blocked and replaced. See Advancements.

Crafting-grid repair

The vanilla repair_item recipe is blocked; equipment is repaired in an anvil, without the experience cap. See Repairing.

Blocked vanilla recipes

Besides the above, the filter blocks the vanilla recipes for ore smelting (replaced by kiln and blast furnace recipes), the furnace, smoker, blast furnace, campfire and smithing table, iron, gold, diamond and netherite equipment, rails, hoppers, buckets, cauldrons and other iron items, food such as bread, cake, cookies, stews and pumpkin pie, dyes, carpets, banners, chiseled blocks, glazed terracotta, glass, the shulker box, bundle, TNT, ender eye, ender chest, mace, wind charge, recovery compass and more. Most have pack replacements with different ingredients.

Sapling and stick drops from leaves

Leaves drop neither; each sapling is crafted from one of its leaves, a recipe unlocked by picking up the matching log. Removed in 0.5-alpha.
