A bedrock buster is a special charge of TNT that destroys bedrock. Placed on a block, it becomes a glowing primed TNT, and just before it explodes it clears a 3×7×3 column of bedrock around itself, letting players break through the floor of the Overworld or the roof and floor of Hell.

Each bedrock buster costs a Divine Fragment, the pack's scarcest progression material.
Usage
The bedrock buster is a spawn egg that holds a primed TNT entity.[1] Using it on a block:
- spawns a primed, glowing TNT with an 80-tick (4-second) fuse and explosion power 4;
- 79 ticks later, removes every bedrock block in a 3×7×3 area centered on the nearest glowing TNT (1 block to each side horizontally, 3 blocks up and down) and releases a burst of end rod particles;[2]
- the TNT then explodes normally one tick later, damaging the surrounding blocks and entities.
The bedrock removal is triggered by an advancement when the buster is used on a block.[3] Only the bedrock around one glowing TNT is removed per activation: if several busters are used within 79 ticks, the scheduled removal is replaced and only runs once, at the glowing TNT nearest to the world spawn point.
Spawners
Because it is a spawn egg, using a bedrock buster on a spawner counts as putting a spawn egg on it: every spawner within 16 blocks is destroyed and the player takes 20 damage.[4]

Trivia
- The item is a chicken spawn egg with a custom model.
- In the design video, bedrock busters are listed among the items that need a divine fragment, as part of the reasoning against building mob farms: "If you want to make an unbreaking book, Bedrock Busters, Crystal Hearts, or netherite, you need that fragment."[5]
