TypeHostile mob, undead
Health pointsEasy, Normal: 10 (Heart × 5)
Hard: 12 (Heart × 6)
SpawnOverworld, including the open surface
DropsArrow Arrow, Bone, Estus Ash Estus Ash

A skeleton in Matcha Flavoured has about half the health it has in vanilla Minecraft, but on Normal and Hard it carries a bow with Punch that knocks players back further. Skeletons drop Estus Ash Estus Ash, and only drop anything when killed by a player.

Spawning

Skeletons use the vanilla biome spawn lists. As undead, they can spawn on the open surface until the Ender Dragon is killed; see Spawning and Surface. Skeletons also come from spawners in monster rooms and abbeys; those skeletons drop nothing.

Drops

Loot table minecraft:entities/skeleton (source); pools roll 1 time(s). Overrides the vanilla table.

Item Stack size Chance per roll Chance per table Notes
Arrow Arrow 0–2 66.7% 66.7% player kill
Bone Bone 0–2 66.7% 66.7% player kill
Estus Ash Estus Ash 0–1 50.0% 50.0% player kill

All drops require a player kill, and skeletons from the pack's spawners drop nothing.[1] The arrows and bones are as in vanilla. The pack adds Estus Ash Estus Ash (0–1). Skeletons don't drop the bow they carry or other equipment.

Behavior

On Normal and Hard, a skeleton's bow is replaced with a bow enchanted with Punch I (Normal) or Punch II (Hard), with a 0% drop chance.[2][3] The new bow replaces any enchantments the skeleton spawned with. These changes apply to every mob in the #minecraft:skeletons tag that the pack checks: skeletons, strays, bogged and parched.

Skeletons are undead, so warding hurts them.

History

0.4-alpha Skeletons no longer drop armor or weapons they're holding.
1.10 Difficulty support: skeletons have half health on Normal and a little more than half on Hard. Obol drop rate lowered to match other mobs.
1.12.1-alpha Fixed performance problems from skeletons having both Punch I and Punch II. Obols no longer drop from undead.
1.12.2 Skeletons from spawners drop nothing. New skeleton textures.

Trivia

  • In the design video: "All skeletons have had their max HP cut in half."[5]
  • The 1.12.2 release notes list the new skeleton textures as "Skeletons (for Lore)".
