A drowned in Matcha Flavoured is a vanilla underwater zombie with new drops:
Tattered Leather instead of rotten flesh and a chance of
Raw Estus, with no copper. Once the Ender Dragon has been killed, drowned can only appear deep underwater, below sea level and out of sight of the sky.
Spawning
Drowned use the vanilla spawn rules. As undead, they aren't removed from the open surface before the dragon is killed.
After the dragon is killed, a drowned is removed as soon as it appears if it can see the sky or is at Y=63 or above. Unlike other mobs, this applies inside trial chambers and abbeys too.[1][2] See Surface.
Drops
Loot table minecraft:entities/drowned (source); pools roll 1 time(s). Overrides the vanilla table.
| Item | Stack size | Chance per roll | Chance per table | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1–2 | 100% | 100% | player kill | |
| 0–1 | 25.0% | 25.0% | player kill |
All drops require a player kill.[3] Compared to vanilla,
Tattered Leather (1–2) replaces rotten flesh (0–2), and a 50% chance of
Raw Estus (0–1) replaces the chance of a
Copper Ingot. Drowned don't drop the tridents, nautilus shells or other equipment they spawn with.
Behavior
Drowned are undead, so warding hurts them.
Difficulty
Adult drowned keep their vanilla attributes on every difficulty. Baby drowned get new health values:[4]
| Attribute | Easy | Normal | Hard |
|---|---|---|---|
| Max health (baby) | 4 ( |
4 ( |
7 ( |
| Equipment drop chance | 0% | 0% | 0% |

The 1.12.1-alpha release notes give Y=43 for the drowned limit, but the code uses Y=63.
