The warding shield is a shield inlaid with silver and painted with a Nazar. It carries 1, which works from the off hand, so it adds warding on top of whatever weapon the player holds.

A silver bullion goes in the template slot, a shield in the base slot and a Nazar in the addition slot. The shield's face shows a fixed nazar pattern (a light blue circle with a black flower on white, with a blue border), whose banner layers are hidden from the tooltip.[1] Enchantments on the original shield are kept (see intrinsic enchantments).
Usage
Blocking
The warding shield blocks like an ordinary shield and has the same 336 durability.
Warding
Held in either hand, the shield gives 1. Its warding is added to that of the item in the other hand, up to 3: a Warding Sword or Silver Sword with the shield gives 2, and a Nazar or Electrum Axe with the shield gives 3. See Warding.
Repairing
The warding shield can only be repaired with a Nazar or a block of lapis lazuli.
Advancements
Smithing the warding shield grants Convoymaster ("Affix a Nazar to an Shield inlaid with Silver in a Smithing Table") in the Tutorial tab, which rewards an Obol.[2]
