Opal earrings are jewelry that help the wearer underwater. Worn in the head slot, they give Dolphin's Grace and, while the wearer is in water, Conduit Power.
Obtaining
Trading
The Jeweler sells opal earrings at Novice level for 4 Obols and one Opal. The trade can be used 999 times.[1]
Usage
Effect
While worn by a player, opal earrings give Dolphin's Grace at all times, and Conduit Power whenever the player is in water. Both effects are hidden and reapplied every tick for 1 second, so they wear off within a second of the earrings being removed or, for Conduit Power, of the player leaving the water.[2][3] Conduit Power lets the player breathe underwater, see better underwater and mine faster there, as in vanilla. Dolphin's Grace only has an effect while swimming.
Armor
Opal earrings are worn in the head slot and take the place of a helmet. They give 1 armor point and no armor toughness or knockback resistance. Like all jewelry, they have no durability, so they never break, but they burn in fire or lava when dropped and don't keep piglins calm as adamant and electrum armor do. See Jewelry.
