Dimensions
Matcha Flavoured keeps the three vanilla dimensions but overrides the dimension types of the Overworld and Hell (the Nether).
Overworld
The pack's Overworld dimension type differs from vanilla in these ways:[1]
| Property | Matcha Flavoured | Vanilla |
|---|---|---|
| Ambient light color | none ("true darkness") | #0a0a0a
|
| Beds | Can always be slept in | Only when dark |
| Respawn anchors | Work | Do not work |
True darkness
Without an ambient light color, unlit areas of the Overworld are completely dark. The pack ships an alternative file, overworld_no_true_darkness.txt, which is identical except that it sets the ambient light color to #212631. To turn true darkness off, a player deletes overworld.json in the datapack's data/minecraft/dimension_type folder, renames the .txt file to overworld.json and restarts the world.[2] See Darkness.
Time
The Overworld's day timeline lasts 72,000 ticks (60 minutes) instead of 24,000, and the moon cycle and villager schedule are stretched to match. See Day and night and Moon.[3]
Hell
The Nether is called Hell. Its ambient light is raised to 0.3, its fog reaches 300 blocks, and water no longer evaporates, although the pack removes water that a player pours out below the roof.
The End
The End's dimension type is unchanged.
